My mail server is located in the internal LAN and there is a SMTP server (symantec mail security application running on that server) in the perimeter network.

All outbound and inbound from the internal mail will go through the perimeter smtp server.

How do i cnfigure the isa server????

Hi,

Publish your mail server through ISA Server 2004 console and your good to go. Go to firewall then on Task and create a new server.

hi,

The symmantec SMTP server will be a secure nat cleint of the ISA 2004 server.
Need to create a rule from SMTP Outbound and one for SMTP inbound.

New Access Rule from Internal to External for SMTP traffic only -> SMTP Outbound

Publish Mail Server -> Server to Server Communication -> SMTP Server only listening on External and give the IP address of the symmantec SMTP server as the Publishing Server.

I think you will be ready to go ..provided ofcourse that you have configured the exchange to SMART HOST all external mails to the symmantec SMTP server.
