Does anyone know how to have ISA keep the ip address of the requesting host intact? Whenever we use this variable it returns the address of the internal nic on the ISA server and not the actual IP of the requesting client.

Hi Dave,

If you are running into this problem with Web Publishing, there's no way to figure this, as the interal interface address will be reported when external client requests are forwarded to the internal server.

However, you can get the souce IP address included in the IIS logs by using server publshing rather than web publishing. However, you must create a Protocol Definition for inbound TCP 80 and use the Protocol in your server publishing rule.
