First, I want to say thanks to Doc Shinder for the white papers concerning this. I am a network newbie who had a server room filled with magical boxes dropped in my lap. His papers have been immensely helpful. I am trying to set up a several virtual servers (MS Virtual Server, 2k3) on my private network, and then have them accessible by external clients using Remote Desktop Web Connect. I am using Server 2003, with ISA 2006, and I can get it working great with just one virtual server up an running. When I add the rules for the second virtual server, all appears to look great when you get to the login page of the RD Web connect page, but when you click connect, it automatically forwards you to the remote desktop of server 1, not the desktop of server 2. This is even though you log into the server 2 login page. For Server 1 I have: Rule 1 Allow HTTP; from Web Listener (port 80); to Server 1 (FDQN) Rule 2 Allow RDP; from External; to Server 1 (IP address) With this setup, it works like a champ. I then add: Rule 3 Allow HTTP; from Web Listener (port 80); to Server 2 (FDQN) Rule 4 Allow RDP; from External; to Server 2 (IP address) This setup appears to work, but when you login on the web connect RDP page Server 2) , it brings up Server 1 instead of server 2. If I disable rule 2, then when I am at Server 2 the RDP traffic gets forwarded correctly using Rule 4 and I can access Server 2 with no problems (of course Server 1 cannot be accessed then). When Rule 2 is enabled, the traffic appears to default to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if in the D.C. Metro area, repaid with a session at Bungalows for beers.

Hi Bobby, The two RDP servers need to have external DNS entries that point to two different IP addresses, one for RDP server publishing rule 1 and one for RDP server publishing rule 2. HTH, Tom

If you can reconfigure the client to request on an alternate port number, then you can use a single IP address. From what I understand, you can configure this option in the Web connection. Tom
