Hello,

I have an ISA server in a DMZ which is used solely for reverse proxy of OWA, RPC over HTTP etc. This is its only job. The ISA server sits in a different office (and therefore different subnet to me.)

I would like to be able to remote manage this ISA server using both the ISA Management Console and MSTSC if possible.

The internal NIC of the ISA server has no set gateway and therefore no knowledge of any other subnet. I was going to set up a static route from ISA to my workstation so I could perform remote management. However, I have been told that this is insecure and a better method is to remote control a workstation in the same office as ISA and then use that to manage the ISA server. This is a pain and very slow.

So, the question is, is it reasonable to set up a static route to ISA for remote management purposes? Is this really a big security risk? Are there better methods of remotely managing the ISA server?

TIA for any assistance you can give me.
