Hello, Running a site-to-site VPN with ISA 2006, which is working OK. I am trying to promote a remote office server (not part of the domain) to a DC, but i'm getting the following message: ***** Error Joning Domain The operation failed becuase: The attempt to join this computer to the <domainname> domain failed. "The remote procedure call failed." ***** This server is running Windows 2008 Std, as are the 2 other DC's at the main office. DNS on the remote DC is configured to use the 2 main office DC's until I can actually promote it. Strange thing is, once the VPN was connected, I could add the ISA server itself to the domain no problems, but not the Windows 2008 server. I get the following errors when monitoring the traffic: RPC (all interfaces): 0x80074e21 FWX_E_ABORTIVE_SHUTDOWN RPC (all interfaces): 0x80074e24 FWX_E_CONNECTION_KILLED Any ideas? Thanks

Are you allowing DNS traffic between the sites so that you can reach the main office? Have you tired to resolve the domain FQDN from the remote office so that you are rally sure of that the traffic can go thrugh the VPN tunnle to the main office?
