Hi everybody! Long time reader, first time poster... Anyways, got a problem that's had me stumped for a couple weeks. Hoping somebody might be able to help out. Basically, we're unable to generate reports when configured for remote SQL logging (MSDE logging works fine). Whenever dailysum.exe runs, it fails and generates the following Event Viewer message: The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft ISA Server 2006 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: dailysum.exe, 5.0.5720.100, 44a3a95c, oleaut32.dll, 5.2.3790.1830, 424377dd, 0, 000047cc. Since that was always failing, we decided to try running reports without any summaries. We always get the same two errors in both scenarios: The action to connect to ISA Server report data collector on array member (servername) failed. The error description is: The server threw an exception. . Use the source location 1201.414.5.0.5720.157 to report the failure. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. The action to summarize all period summaries from the array, into report "TestReport" failed. The error description is: Unspecified error . Use the source location 1200.193.5.0.5720.157 to report the failure. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. I've been trying to figure this one out for a couple weeks. I haven't been able to find any conclusive documentation on this issue or come up with anything myself. Does the reporting feature not support remote SQL logging, or are we doing something wrong? Any input will help!

Hi Atreyu! Reporting feature support remote SQL logging. And you config ISA & SQL correct. I have the same problem without remote logging. I suppose that the problem is in oleaut32.dll, because on other servers it works correctly.
