We followed article entitled 'Using a Commercial Web Site Certifcate to Publish Outlook Web Access' which details using two seperate ISA Publishing Rules to publish internal and external OWA access. We actually used two seperate commercial SSL certificates even though we did not need to!

We now need to renew the earlier External (commercial) web certificate but this has been exported and removed from IIS as per documentation. How do I go about generating a new request to update this certifcate. At present only the Internal OWA certifcate is bound to IIS.

Can I simply export this certificate and remove it from IIS, then import the External cerifcate (which needs to be renewed) and generate a new request through IIS? Then I export this to ISA and update the External Publishing Rule. Lastly I remove this and re-import the original Internal certficate in IIS? What impact does this have on operation of the OWA both internally and externally? Is there a best practice for completing this task? Many thanks in advance for your assistance.
