Hi there,
I have made the mistake of installing Windows 2003 SBS standard edition onto a server with about 20 client computers. We are now finding that we need to be able to view a log of what each client has been browsing, and thus have a need for ISA.

Is it possible to install and use ISA 2004 on an SBS 2003 STANDARD edition server?

Regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Yes you can on a SBS server but personally I would not recommend it. If you search this site you should find a few articles to help you on the installation.

Good luck,

RB

Hi RB,

Thank you for the quick reply :-) May I ask why you wouldn't recommend it? What are the alternatives?

Thanks, Nick

Nick,

Mainly It's a firewall! :) The less running on the attack surface the better and running on an SBS (or any domain controller as far as that goes) you have to make swiss cheese of your firewall policy! Best to palce on a member server.

Heres some info Isa on SBS. From   Tom Shinder....http://www.isaserver.org/articles/2004sbsinstallpart1.html.
I run ISA on my SBS premium. As far as security goes, it works the same as it would on a seperate server.
