I am wondering if there is any procedural docs for the proper setup of the SBS 03 access features.

I have an ISA server running on w2k3 server
and a seperate SBS 03 server.

Email, and internet access are working just no remote access or ftp... I'm off for snow today so I'll be reading the microsoft lit. Any other reading sources would be great.

Love the interface, much more intuitive.

Hi LGS,

FTP and Remote Access has definitely been enhanced big time! Can you provide some more details on how you've set things up and what's not working?

Thanks!
Tom

I had a linksys router as my firewall before and when I installed SBS server the UPnP portion of the SBS setup took care of all of the port forwarding. FTP and remote access worked perfectly.

I use a dynamic dns service to resolve my ip. I used *****.tzo.com/remote and /exchange to gain access. FTP was from an ftp client doing the same thing.

Along comes ISA server 2000 Completed its install and set up the proper config for internet access AND the next day 04 is released. (Can't wait for my Microsoft Action pack updates) Needless to say 00 was uninstalled and 04 installed

I have configured the DNS servers on both the ISA and SBS computers. All Exchange email features work great. Reverse lookup is working I believe. All computers are static IP addressed and all domain functions are configured and working. I hope this is the info you are looking for if not just let me know.... I'm just sitting here reading and stareing at this forum.

Thanks for the quick reply and pardon and SP's

Hi LGSONE,

OK, just one more piece of info. Are you having problems with publishing FTP sites and creating a VPN server, or do you need to connect to Internet FTP sites and VPN servers on the Internet from internal network clients?

Thanks!
Tom

I am unable to publish my private ftp server on one of my xp machines to the internet. The linksys router had the ftp ports forwarded from the public side to the private IP of my XP ftp server (serv-u 4.0) with dynamic dns plug in running. (that is not important now since the TZO client runs on the ISA server to resolve my public IP address.) I am unable to reach my SBS workplace and exchange from the internet. I can reach both from the LAN side just unable from the external interface (internet) side. I did not use SSL for the ftp connection to my XP machine. With ISA 04 and the https for the SBS workplace and Exchange access I guess I'll do it to the FTP server running on the XP machine. Would it be better to run the FTP server on the SBS server and just have it use network shares (mapped drives) to the XP client for authentication purposes from the internet on the server or just leave it on the XP client and have the SSL for the FTP be handled by the Serv-U server. I wanted to manage SSL Certificates from the Certification Authority on the Server I'm learning enough to be dangerous so I hope this makes some sense.
