Hi everyone.

I have performed an article from Mr. Shinder related to Secure SMTP Server and everything is fine through port 25 TCP. If I create a rule with SMTPS protocol, TCP 465, and, of course, configure the virtual server on Front-end Exchange Server to use TCP 465, it doesn't work. I know that SMTPS is not necessary, but I am interested about using TCP 465.

Hi again!

I would like to add that "ISA Server 2000 Exchange 2000/2003 Secure Remote Email Access" says the following related to Secure Exchange 2003 SMTP/SMTPS Publishing:

"A Secure Exchange Server SMTP Server Publishing Rule accepts incoming connections on TCP port 25. The Exchange Server is able to use its TCP port 25 to listen for connection requests for encrypted and non-encrypted connections. This is the reason why you do not need to use the built in SMTPS Server Publishing Rule to publish the TLS secured SMTP server."

Understood, but I have used the built in SMTPS Server Publishing Rule to publish the TLS secured STMP server and it doesn't work. I do not know why and it is very curious, because everything is fine through SMTP TCP 25.

Hi everyone!

The result code on ISA Server 2006 is 0x80074e21 FWX_E_ABORTIVE_SHUTDOWN, which means that a connection was abortively closed after one of the peers sent a RST segment.

So if I create a mail server publishing rule with SMTP Server protocol, the connection between the email client (Outlook Express) and the Secure Authenticated SMTP Server on the FE Exchange Server is successfull. However, if the protocol is SMTPS Server, the connection is abortively closed with the error on top of this paragraph.
