I have been setting up a new Exchange 2003 environment on my Internal Network and it is protected by an ISA 2004 server that also has a perimeter network. I have installed an SMTP Relay in the perimeter network and...
I need to know if I can also make that same server an Exchange 2003 FE server for my OWA needs. Saying it simply, can I have an Exchange 2003 FE be an SMTP Relay also located in the perimeter?

Tom's book has been a tremendous help in making this environment a reality and everything is working great.

So you want to setup both SMTPSVC for mail relay and Exchange FE for OWA?

I would suggest that you install just the Exchange FE. It will give you both mail relay service and OWA front end.

I plan on installing the Exchange Front End because I need to provide OWA. The catch is that for my SMTP relay, I am using a product by Trend Micro called the Interscan Messaging Security Suite. I am hoping that the server will be able to be an Exchange Front End for my OWA needs and then be an SMTP Relay using Trend Micro's product all on the same server.
