SMTP stoped responding on ISA2k4 SP1

Status: offline 		after adding the SP1 to working ISA the SMTP stopped responding.
works ok from internal network.

telneting from the isa or internet fails with connection error.

ISA logs Failed to connect SMTP in the log.

HELP !

Where is the SMTP service running? On the ISA firewall?

What does the Event Viewer have to say about this?
