For a long time now I have been with the understanding that the SNAT client does not use the ISA web proxy service.  Today I was reading the book and on page 573 there is a section on "Disabling Automatic Proxy Connections for SecureNAT clients".

I went back through the chapter on client types but am still unable to reconcile. Does the SNAT use the web proxy?

Hi Shannon,

That's what the Web proxy filter does. It automatically forwards the SecureNAT client connections to the Web proxy filter and enables SecureNAT clients to benefit from HTTP Security Filtering and cache.

HTH,
Tom
