Hi All,

I need integrated multicast support in ISA.
However in every article it says it is supported in SP1 bot nobody knows where it is?
Default NLB is still using unicast and where in the gui can we change it???

Thanks,

Richard

If only it were that easy!

The hotfix is inlcuded within the service pack, but you need to enable it manually using a downloaded script package.

It is all command line, and you can find the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938550/en-us

Cheers

JJ

Althought the hotfix to support other NLB modes is included within SP1 you will need to contact MS to get the actual kb938550 script package, as this doesn't appear to be included in the update.

It is available for free.

Thanks J.

However, the script from Jim just determines which CSS has the schema master role prior to running the kb938550 script package which updates the schema.

I think MS need to close the loop and this one and provide a simple "push and go" script or GUI to make this easier, as it is pretty painful at the moment and requires several bits of information to be pooled together...saying "it is part of SP1" is also a little misleading as it isn't really, well not all of it

Cheers

JJ

Thanks, indeed you still need the script and I enabled multicast.
However still my NLB service gives the same issue as pre sp1:

NLB stopped due to a local problem:

My network:
Internal 10.x.x.x
External: 172.x.x.x
Intra-array:192.x.x.x

2x ISA's
CS role on first ISA

Any clues someone???

Thanks,

Richard

Due you have NIC teaming enabled on any NICs by any chance?

Have you made the necessary changes when the CSS is installed on one of the NLB cluster members? You should have got a prompt about this when you first enabled NLB on the array.

Check for the 'Multiple Network Adapters and NLB' section here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/bb794741.aspx

Cheers

So, is NIC teaming disabled on ALL NICs?

99% of the time, I have seen that error when there is something wrong with the NIC setup...usually NIC teaming or VLAN trunking etc.
