I just upgraded our NT4 server to Server 2003 this past Sunday making us Active directory in mixed mode as I still have a NT4 BDC on the network.

I am using ISA2000 SP1 and FP1 installed on Windows 2000 SP4 machine. We have a SQL Server 2000 SP3a server that is a firewall and Proxy client that connects to a SQL Server 2000 machine over the internet to pull in data.

I have a rule for outbound TCP traffic on port 1433 that had been working fine until 4pm on Monday. Note that the upgrade to AD was done Sunday night. Now when we try to connect to the SQL server using Query Analyzer we get a timeout. We can connect with Enterprise manager and can telnet to port 1433 on that SQL server. A machine outside of ISA works fine. Firewall logs show the following:

192.168.0.15 administrator ISQLW.EXE:3:5.0 2004-03-03 19:22:23 ISASERVER - xx.x.x.234 - - 1433 TCP Connect 0 SQL Out Allow All 132 680
192.168.0.15 administrator ISQLW.EXE:3:5.0 2004-03-03 19:22:23 ISASERVER - xx.x.x.234

Can this be a password failure due to Active directory? We get this timeout from any machine behind ISA not just the SQL server.
