SSL publishing and SecureNat clients problem - 7.Feb.2004 7:27:00 AM

Hi,

When I publish SSL site (OWA for example) my internal SecureNat clients cannot access it. (Cannot find server or DNS Error in IE)
Internal Web proxy & firewall clients and external clients works fine.

Any suggestions ?

Mario

This new version of ISA is much more hardened compared to the previous version. All servers must be published to each network that you want them to service, including internal networks now too. Most likely you haven't published your internal DNS server(s) to your internal SecureNAT clients. Web Proxy clients don't need it because the ISA server comes with built-in outbound access to any DNS server.

Hi Mario,

Make sure your internal network clients do NOT loop back through the firewall. Create a split DNS and point the internal network clients to the internal DNS zone. Configure Web Proxy client to use Direct Access for internal network resource.

Same princples are ISA2000, only the procedures vary.

HTH,
Tom
