I have ISA 2004 SP2 and I created a secure web publishing rule using Bridging.

When I monitor the rule I get an error of
"12206 The ISA Server detected a proxy chain loop. There is a problem with the configuration of the ISA Server routing policy"

I've read for three day about this error and have tried many suggestions but I can't get it to work.

I also noticed in the Bridging tab of the rule it has a check box to "use a certificate to authenticate to the SSL Web Server" But it won't let me Browse, says no certificate installed.

I have installed the certificate two time, instructions from the web, I then read in Tom's ISA 2004 book that the cert needs to be copied from the Certificates/Personal folder to the Trusted Root Certificate Authority/Certificates folder which I did, still nothing.

Any help would be much appreciated

Sorry just noticed I'm the ISA 2006 forum, not sure how to move this over

Hi,

The option "Use a certificate to authenticate...." is used only if your Web site requires a User certificate.

Regarding the chain loop error.  Could we take a look at the output from an ipconfig/all command on your ISA server?

Thanks

Ian

Moved!

Most likely cause is bad NIC configuration, do you have a default gateway on more than one NIC by any chance?

Check out here for the correct setup...

Cheers

JJ
