Hello,

i have the follwing question on NAT during
testing ISA in my Lab.

i have installed ISA2K4 on W2K3
- NAT-Route from internal to external
- internal Mailserver 192.168.1.1
- external ISA-IP 222.222.222.222
- Server Publishing Roule for 222.222.222.223
to 192.168.1.1 on Port 25
=> This works fine

Now the question: Can i made the packets initiated
from the internal Mailserver to have in the ip source field the secondary external IP 222.222.222.223.
The ISA-Server made always 222.222.222.222 the primary external interface IP and this is my understanding of NAT-Routes.
But for an mailserver it is better to send out mails with the same IP as the DNS-Server in the internet resolve the name (RBL and so on).

Is the only solution to create an DMZ with an public ip-range and Route-Roules to this DMZ ?

Thanks for help

Hi DJ,

Bad news. You can't unless there is a route relationship between the remote server and the DMZ server.

HTH,
Tom
