Server and Web Publishing - 29.Mar.2005 10:05:00 AM

I have a B2B design working well with 2 isa 2000s. I have been try to do same with isa 2004 with no show.

1st, when I install the front end isa 2004, I am surprised that by default I could go on the internet with no restrictions even though I have no Access rule/policy in place. This was not possible with isa 2000. Can this be called Secured mpre than isa2000?

I have tried to publish by external DNS and some of my web but with no result.

Config as follows: (Private Addresses)

isa1 (Front End) - 192.168.21.200(int) SM 255.255.255.0 No Gateway. - 231.231.231.234 (ent) 255.255.255.0, DG - 231.231.231.233 - with isp dns servers.

Any info on how to publish the DMZ Servers. 1st I need to make sure that the published DNS Server am using for the split DNS is working. At the moment it is not. I also need to publish the Web Servers.

I have read a few of the articles on this site together with Tom's new book and am getting no where.

Any help will be appreciated please.

Thanks.

faith

Hi Faith,

There's a configuration error somewhere, because the default config of the ISA firewall will not allow outbound access through the firewall without an Access Rule allowing the connection.

Check the Event Viewer and Alerts tab to get some hints where the config error might be.

HTH,
Tom

I have looked and do not see any config error. Other clients are not able to get out through the isa2004, but the isa2004 itself can get to the internet. This is what i mean. Should isa itself be able to get to the iinternet without any rules whatsoever.

Thanks
