Does anybody have any supporting technical documentation from Microsoft as to why we always set the Exchange 2007 ActiveSync web listener idle session timeout to 1800 seconds (I believe it's to preserve battery life on WM devices)?

Quote from a Microsoft friend of mine:

"You don't want the FBA timeout applied to EAS clients.
The folks in Exch, WM6 and ISA all agreed that a wide-open 30-minute timeout was good for  battery life.  If you close that sooner, the client has to re-authenticate."

Not sure if there is anything else more official, but that is good enough for me

Cheers

JJ
