Hi I have a current setup of 2 servers and a pc in my home infrastructure.

1 server is running Exchange 2003 and the other is running IIS, both have public IP's

At the moment my ISP is forwarding all SMTP to my exchange servers public IP address .

I do not want to go through the pain of getting that changed with my ISP and was thinking of the following structure when adding the ISA server

Router
to
ISA Server with 2 NIC's (External=Public IP)+(Internal Multihomed = Public IP & Private IP)
to
Switch
to
Exchange 1 Nic(Multihomed = Public and Private IP) and the same setup for my IIS server.

Would this allow me to have my ISP forward SMTP mail to my current IP address of my exchange server as well as have the servers connected to my pc's on a private IP range

Hi Mackland,

NO - do NOT do it that way.

Bind your public addresses to the external interface of the ISA firewall. Then publish the Exchange Server.

Assigning a public address to the Exchange Server is the best way to get it "owned".

After I bind my 2 public IP's to the external card of the ISA server docI then give the exchange server a private IP before publishing it
