I am testing the VPN piece of ISA and would like to use IPSEC. PPTP works perfect, however once I enter the IPSEC Key and change the clients "Type of VPN" from Automatic to L2TP IPSEC VPN, I cannot connect.

Can someone advise me as to what I am missing / doing wrong?

Thanks in Advance

Hi David,

Never use IPSec tunnel mode unless you need to connect to a non-MS firewall. Much less secure than PPTP or L2TP/IPSec, with the latter being the most secure.

HTH,
Tom

Hello:

I am trying to have a client connect from their home via cable modem to our ISA Server via IPSec. Not a point to point VPN

Thanks
