Hi,

I have printed and read all documents on this website about publishing OWA, but still have problems, so I hope someone can help me a bit.

My configuration is as followed (I know it's not optimal, but I have to do with it)

1 server running Windows Server 2003 st. + Exchange 2003 st. + ISA server 2004

I just read a document that you shouldn't use the .local domain name, but that's what I have here.

Also read something about a split DNS, should I use that ?

OWA is working on the server, but from the outside I get a message in the internet explorer :
Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The target principal name is incorrect.

And ISA says: (https)failed connection attemp

For the website DNS of the ISP is being used.
Should I setup the DNS for the same domain on my server also ?

Hi PM,

That's the problem. Exchange on the firewall isn't supported.

Put the ISA firewall in front of the Exchange Server and all will be well.

HTH,
Tom

Isn't there a way to do it ?

This site is very smal and has only got one server.

Everything works fine, Exchange Incoming and Outgoing mail works fine too, I only want to add the OWA functionality to it.

(is it correct that Exchange should be configured as a back end server ?)

Even if the configuration isn't supported, could you give me a tip how to get it working ?

If it isn't possible at all, is it possible to use RCP over HTTPS instead ?

thanks

Don't let me discourage you from trying, but I couldn't even get ISA 2004 and Exchange 2003 RUNNING on the same server, let alone OWA, so I think you're already way ahead of me.

FYI (I know this probably does little to help your situation), Small Business Server 2003 will allow you to run both ISA 2004 and Exchange 2003 on the same box.

I feel your pain. We had the same problem and ended up buying a second server to act as a dedicated ISA server. Not necessarily helpful in your situation either though. Good luck.

Ok,

So that's not so good news, but just what you say, with SBS it is supported.

I think my configuration is working good so far, I am just not very familiar with setting up Certificates etc. because the original domain name is hosted somewhere else I don't know what name I have to use for setting up a certificate for OWA.

Maybe someone with the same issue can tell me if he mentioned to get it running fine. Hopefully not everyone has the same experience as itsasecret [Frown]
thanks for your comment anyway itsasecret.

anyone ?
