For a test, I tried to publish SharePoint Portal Site using WEB publishing rules. HTTP, basic authentication, no encryption. Site is functioning properly when accessed internaly. However, when accessed through published IP address I am given following error in browser (when user name/pass is valid):

> You do not have permission to view this directory or page
> using the credentials that you supplied because your Web
> browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web
> server is not configured to accept.

Any suggestions?

Is the HTTP Security Filter identified as the source of the error?

Hi Tom,
the error was generated by IIS rather than HTTP Security Filter. Anyway, it ended up being problem with (corrupted?) WEB listener. I recreated the listener and rule is now working.

Thank you for your help, it actually helped. I was pulling up the info to replay to your question and ended up finding solution. [Big Grin]
