Hi,

Here's the setup:

Server A - HQ
-Windows Server 2003
-RRAS

Server B - DataCentre
-Windows Server 2003
-ISA2004

I have everything setup on Server B to allow inbound PPTP VPN connections. I have a user account with the same name as the interface, I specified the internal address range of server A's network in the remote site network in ISA, etc.

When server A initiates the VPN to server B, I see in the ISA logs on server B that a PPTP connection established. The networks/ports and all that look fine.

However, the elapsed time counter on server A keeps going and going.. and then at around 44 seconds it says "An error occurred during the connection of the interface. The connection was closed.".

I also note that on server B's ISA log it shows that PPTP was closed (on port 0??) around the time that the message pops up on server A.

Server B's event logs are empty. So are server A's. Even after I set debug logging in RRAS. It seems as though the RRAS/ISA2004 on server B is not responding but thats just my guess....

Hi ZD,

I haven't tested this scenario yet, but it would be interesting to see if you have the same problem without ISA installed. How did you set up the connection? Did you configured Server A to be a VPN gateway too, or did you just configure it as a VPN client?
