We are evaluating ISA Server 2004 for site to site VPN Solution. We need to know where we could choose the encryption protocol (ex: DES, Triple DES etc). Also, we need to knwo the number of IPSec tunnel supported.

I'm not sure of the total number of supported tunnels but I believe it's a 1000 on the standard edition.

You can configure the details of the tunnel on the "Connection Tab" of the tunnel properties and then choose the "IPSec Settings" button. This lets you set the "Encryption", "Integrity" and "Deffie-Hellman Group".

Hi Andrew,

You are correct. Total number of VPN tunnels supported is 1000 with SE ISA firewall. EE ISA firewall will be unlimited.

Also, remember to always use L2TP/IPSec and NOT IPSec tunnel mode (which is susceptible to man in the middle attacks) if you can. If you have to use IPSec tunnel mode, just be aware of the risks.
