hi all
our smtp server is behind firewall & on the firewall all IP traffice is allowed for this computer ,also SMTP filter is enabled on ISA BUT sometimes i get the below error on ISA Logs & on SMTP server get "Connection was dropped by Remote host " for domains such as yahoo.com ,gmail.com & so on .actually i don't find any specific DATA on the record to enable on SMTP filter of ISA.
Any help is appreciated.

hi
i checked the MS website which you mentioned but as u can see in DATA field of my logs NO SMTP DATA is defined so i don't know the command name so nothing can be added to SMTP filter .

do the logfiles created by the SMTP instance itself contain any information.. instead of the EventLogs?

hi
i checked smtp logs & nothing strange exist (on Mail Relay Server ) . i still get this unicode names in Data section of event logs .have you ever seen this data in your ISA logs.

I'm not getting similar references in my logs.
Can you perhaps run netmon on your ISA server and send yourself an email from a gmail account and capture the smtp exchange?
Yes, it's a bit of effort but I've got no alternative ideas I'm afraid!
