Hi folks.  I am testing ISA 2006 right now.  Running on a Windows 2003 server (with SP2).  I have one Exchange 2003 server in my LAN.  I also have a hardware firewall at the edge to the Internet.  On that firewall, I've configure a DMZ port so I can put the ISA's external interface to it.  The ISA's internal interface will be on the LAN.  here is a visual of it.
       +--------- [ firewall ] --- Internet
      !               ! DMZ
LAN ---+               !
      !               !
      +--- [ ISA ] ---+

I've followed the article http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Using-2006-ISA-Firewall-RC-Publish-OWA-Sites-Part1.html.  I've exported my Thawte SSL certificate from my Exchange server, and import that into the ISA server.

I got it working somewhat.  I put a workstation on the same DMZ network as the ISA's external interface.  Type in https://mail.domain.com/exchange, I got to the "blue" Office Outlook Web Access screen on ISA.  I put in the domain\username and password.  Click Logon.  It looks like it is trying to connect, but failed after a while.  The error message is Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The number of HTTP requests per minute exceeded the configured limit"...   My Exchange IIS log show alot of 401 messages.

My Exchange server use form authentication.  is there something that I am missing?

Thanks

Well,  after reading thru a couple post, I disable FBA on my exchange server.  It works.

Kind of a bad design, though.  Internally, I would like my users to bypass ISA and goes directly to the OWA (benefiting from the OWA's FBA).  For outside folks, they would get the FBA from ISA when connecting thru ISA publishing.

I did not know that you have to disable FBA on the Exchange to get it to work.  Must have miss that from the documentation.
