Probably just me being dumb but I can't see what's happening - I've opened up all internal traffic from the Local Host "network" to internal, but when I tell SurfControl to install to either the local [ISA] MSDE or the internal network's SQL server I get "Error: could not connect to the SQL server". I have other machines on the network that write to the SQL server and all are working fine so I don't know where the error is. This is the ISA plug-in I'm trying to install, as opposed to the stand-alone version.

Might not really be ISA-related but somebody might have an idea anyway...

Create a rule to allow sql traffic to the sql box.

There is a protocol called sql and sql server...

we use surfcontrol and it works great loggin to a box on the network.

questions? ask!
