Hi Tom..

Bothering you Again with a topic which I guess you dont like .... VOICE CHAT...

Well I read That MSN VOICE CHAT doesnot work with ISA.... What About YAHOO or PALTALK ... does their Voice Chat Work with ISA.. if yes Than Can you Explain where to find help ... and one more thing if one has to open some ports say xxxx for Paltalk (and there are many xxxx) than where to allow these IN IP PACKET FILTERS or should one has to define a Protocol in PROTOCOL DEFINITION and than make a new PROTOCOL RULE to Allow the defined Protocol....

I hope You will help me once again with you Expertise with ISA..

Thanks And Regards
Hasn

Hi Hasn,

Its not that I don't like voice chat, I just don't use it and don't see a business purpose for it, although if you run an ISP, you probably want to allow your users access to it.

This is the information I have on the Yahoo voice chat. I don't know if it works, and I've never tested it. Maybe you can try it and let us know if it works for you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you're using only secureNAT --

create protocols to support the following:
a) yahoo messenger chat - tcp 5050 out
b) yahoo messenger masturba-, er, webcam - tcp 5100 out
c) yahoo messenger voice chat - tcp 5000 & 5001 out (both are necessary for voice)

i've spent a lot of time capturing all this stuff with ethereal while i verified everything worked. You may see some suggestions to allow outbound udp for 5000/5001 & 5050. Not necessary!

HTH,
Tom

Hello Hasan,

Voice+Webcam works fine with yahoo messenger w noproxy settings. Msn voice sometime works, sometime not. limitation do apply.
Try to find SUPERMAN or SPIDERMAN to solve the issue. We tried much failed. When you find one let us know [Razz]
