Hello all,
We are currently trying to troubleshoot a telephony component that sends Voice Mail to recipient's email inbox (.wav file). It is suppose to be Plug 'n Play; just enter the SMTP IP address, username/password to send the Voice Mail to the destination email address. However we get SMTP Time Outs. The component is on our LAN. The OS of the server is SBS2003 w/ ISA 2004.
To narrow down the cause of this, we would like to momentarily disable ISA 2004. How can we do this? If we stop the services, all hell breaks loose. Can we temporarily insert a rule that states 'ALLOW ALL' both internally/externally? If so, how do we do this? It would be a great tool for troubleshooting purposes.
In our particular project, do you think that we get timed-out because we are not using the client firewall applet?
Thank you for your time.

1. Look in the monitoring tab and you should be able to see what 's being blocked. Kick the 'refresh' to be faster....
Is this on a workstation?
1) Click "Start", point to "Programs", point to "Microsoft ISA Server", and then click "ISA Server Management". 2) In "ISA Server Management", expand "<ISA_Server_Name>", where <ISA_Server_Name> is the name of your ISA Server computer. Expand "Firewall Policy", click the "Tasks" tab, and then click "Create New Access Rule". 3) On the "Welcome to the New Access Rule Wizard" page, type a name in the "Access rule name" field, and then click "Next". 4) On the "Rule Action" page, click the "Allow" option, and then click "Next". 5) On the "Protocols" page, select "All outbound traffic" and then click next. 6) In "Access Rule Sources", click "Add". 7) In "Add Network Entities", expand "Computer Sets", and then click the Computer sets that you have created earlier. Click "Add", click "Close", and then click "Next". 8) Follow the wizard to finish it.

And btw ...never disable the ISA firewall.
If this app is on a workstation, I'd add the ISA firewall client.

Thank you very much Guest. That does the trick. I don't want to disable the ISA Server however, it is sometimes useful when troubleshooting connectivity to be able to briefly disable ISA to verify if ISA is the cause of the problem. Again thank you and I apologize for the delay. I didn't realize that someone answered this question. Good day.
