Hi,

I have configured ISA with a rule to "publish a mailserver".
Since I am not able to test the whole setup over the internet I would like to make sure incoming email will be accepted by the ISA server.

I have tried to telnet to port 25 of the external network adapter on the ISA server, but it didn't respond.
Should this work, and if not how can I test it correctly ?

thanks

The ISA will block the telnet traffic by default ... you will hav to create a new access rule to allow Telnet Traffic to pass thru external to internal.

Telnet to Port 25 to Test SMTP Communication:

Is this also true when I have configured to publish a mailserver through the ISA server ?
I have done this with the default publishing rule for mailservers and set it up for SMTP.

I thought the external interface should accept telnet port 25 traffic, is this correct ?
