Hi there! I need a report from internet access through our ISA Server 2004 and stuck with two questions. One of them maybe seems a little dumb but i'll have ask it anyway. I'm trying to generate these reports within two different approaches - using some free tool/solution and a paid one - ok, this is not new at all but now it's my turn. So: 1) What's the most appropriate way to log the events, using the very-known log text files or the built-in MSDE option? Which one will serve to most tools available out there? 2) I need one specific information from the logs: the amount of time that users spend browsing/downloading. Within the free tools, only (so far i found) Kraken Reports do this, but the actual release has troubles when log files are bigger than 200MB - it consumes all computer resources and takes a lot of time to do any operation. Thanks in advance, sorry about the poor english. Fabio R Carvalho

An update to the questions: 1) Most tools can read the W3C Extended format to the logs, some of them can read the ISA format and a few can import/read data directly from MSDE. By now, the W3C format fits all - still don't know the pros and cons. 2) I'm testing the trials for various reporting tools available. Until now, the Red Line Software's Internet Access Monitor can give me data from sessions, where elapsed time is calculated. By the way, this data can be obtained with the field time-taken. Well, this is a work in progress. Please, don't take the information above as the truth: i'm not a specialist and i'm still working and learning with that. Anyone? Thanks in advance, sorry about the poor english. Fabio R Carvalho.
