To whom it may concern

I have the following problem. I have internal website that i am trying to access eg: http://10.10.10.x/* and isa 2004 is popping up this message:

Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)
    IP Address: 10.10.10.x
    Date: 2006/01/09 05:41:29 AM
    Server: (server name)
    Source: proxy

I have tried adjusting the system policy to allow URL's (which i specify) in the allowed site policy, where *.windowsupdate.com are. And it dosen't work. I have tried setting up an access rule using HTTP to the defined URL's and no luck either, i even tried publishing the website (not that i want to let external people see it) just as a test and i can't get it to work.

Conclusion: can't access internal website due to firewall (ISA 2004) blocking access to the URL's. Articles i have read suggest numerous times to allow direct access to the site? how is this setup is ISA 2004 and also anonymous access?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Panther,

Did you modify the Properties for the Internal Network to allow the internal pcs direct access to web servers on the
Internal network?
Here is a link to a MS article, describing how you can do this (more than one method )

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/isa/2004/plan/internalclientaccess.mspx

Good luck

Hi there Carorieta

You helped me last time with OWA, thanks alot.....and u seem to have done it again now. It seems to be working as long as you use the "automatically detect settings" in the web browser under LAN connections. The minute u put just the Proxy settings in LAN Connections it gives u that error.

The script it uses to allow for direct access, where is this located? and can u manually edit it or is everything done by ISA 2004

Can u also point me in the right direction if i want to use anonymous access in the future?
Last time i gave u the wrong email address for msn, the right one is ryangordon99@msn.com....Please buzz me so that i can thank you properly

Panther, You are always welcome

If the user is a Firewall/NAT client, U don't need to make the modification on IE LAN settings.
The NAT/proxy clients are the ones with this problem.
Deploying the Firewall clients is done by adding wpad entries to your DNS and DHCP server (and remember the share of the installation files on ISA). All the configuration for the Automatic Discovery of the Firewall client is done through the ISA management on the networks section (Firewall client Page), as you saw on that article.
When you install the FW client on the workstation, they will be configured to get the Proxy server on the network.
So far what I know about the location: http://servername:8080/array.dll?Get.Routing.Script
Hopefully somebady else follow this link and has an opinion about the script location.
Anonymous accessto the web?
Panther, if you have not made any modification to the ISA server, you are using anonymous access.
Are you asking your users to be authenticated when they access the Internet?
The authentication settings are on the Web Proxy Tab
Configuration\networks\Internal Network Property\Web Proxy\Requires all users to authenticate
Well it's 2:30 Am here in VA, I hope to hear from U tomorrow

Cesar
