I am getting above error when i try to install ISA 2004 client on a server accross a leased line (this server is not part of my domain)

Hi Heinrich,

Make sure the clients can resolve the name of the ISA firewall and also perform a reverse lookup on the IP address of the ISA firewall.

I have the same problem when i try to install the firewall client on one of our network pc's.

Configuration:

ISA Server is edge firewall between internet & LAN. Reverse lookup of the firewall ip works perfectly.

What else could be wrong? Anyone any ideas?

I just fixed this on one of my clients.

ipconfig /flushdns

...followed by

ipconfig /registerdns

I'm not 100% sure if I needed to use /registerdns. After this, my client was able to find the FW.

Just tried that flushdns solution and it worked for my wireless laptop. Great, thanks for the info.
