Hi,

I published a French WSS 3.0 with a Isa 2006.
When I want to reply a Discussions where the title contain a Special Caracter (like é, è or à), I obtain :

Error Code: 401 Unauthorized. The server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web server is denied. Contact the server administrator. (12209)

My LOG :

Hi Fred,

In the HTTP Security Filter, remove the checkmark that blocks extended characters.

Hi Tom,

Both checkmark was uncheck (verify normalization and block extended characters).
Moreover, with the checkmark, the error is "The ISA Server denies the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL) (12202)".
But my error is 401 Unauthorized. "The server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web server is denied. Contact the server administrator. (12209) "

Hi Fred,

In that case, there's a problem with the client authenticating with the ISA Firewall.

Hi Tom
All works perfently when they're not extended characters in title.
So I don't think that it's au authentification problem

I try with all authentificating methode.
(with NTLM, some picture can't be show..)
Always the same problem.

Hi,

i've got currently a Call at Microsoft concerning problems with special characters like "%0d%", getting a 401 Error.

I will post when i've got a solution.

It might be something as simple of configuring the ISA Firewall to not block double encoded strings.
