Hi

I have ISA on the edge if my net connected to the internet through a dsl line. I have an internal web server published through the ISA server with a WEB Publishing Rule.

I have the propper certificate installed on the Webserver and the ISA server. I have the propper listeners configured.

I am able to access OWA from external interface only if i CLEAR the check mark in the WEB publishing rule to require Secure channel.

I really dont think that the data is being encrypted. I get the pop up on my client saying there are unsecure items blah blah.

I saw Toms posts and tutorials saying to publish it as a SERVER publishing rule. I tried that however my webserver has two ip addresses bound to it as i am serving 2 sites. 192.168.1.2 is bound to mail.skarra.com. I enter in 192.168.1.2 in the appropriate spot in the SERVER publishing wizard and specify my external interface. when i test (from external laptop) mail.skarra.com opens up skarra.com(192.168.1.3) website.

Whats the deal here. Was my connection encrypting the password when i had my webpublishing rule and i got the pop up about unsecure items (as the little lock appeared for a second and then dissapeared when i clicked yes)

Am i able to use the destionation sets that i created for my WEB publishing rule with the SERVER publishing rule.

Any Help from Any One is greatly appreciated

Hi AM,

Publishing OWA via SSL is not a beginners task, that's for sure! [Big Grin]

If you want to use Server Publishing Rules, you need to create a Server Publishing Rule for HTTPS.

However, you also need to make sure the common name on the certificates is correct, that SSL is correctly configured on the Web server, and a bunch of other things. All the details are in chapter 6 of ISA Server and Beyond. Around 33,000 words to give you all the details!

HTH,
Tom
