Hy,

Does anyanyone know, how to transfer the existing Firewall rules from an ISA 2004 standard edition to an ISA server 2006 enterprise edition? When I tried to inport the ruleset it said:

"Enterprise Edition settings cannot be imported into Standard Edition, and Standard Edition settings cannot be imported into Enterprise Edition."

I can not belive there is no method, even the Microsoft can not be so idiot, to not support it. I definitly do not want to recreate all the rules.

Hello Elmajdal,

Thanks for your help, I tried the link you send, it is a bit closer, but still not working.

1. I upgraded the ISA 2004 standard to ISA 2006 standard, then I exported the rules.
2. I changed the .xml file as written in your link.
3. The ISA 2006 Enterprise succesfully loaded it.
4. when I pressed the apply button after some minitues I got the following error message:

"The changes cannot be saved."
"Error: 0x8007070c"
Details:
"The specified datatype is invalid."

Any new idea?

Unfortunately , i never tried it , i just had this article in my Favorites and when u asked the question i pasted for you the link.

Try exporting rule by rule, make the change, and then import rule by rule again into EE.
