Hello all

I need some help, please "[Smile]"

I am new to ISA 2004 Std and have just finished setting up the Access Rules as required and checking that the actual Server is able to access the Internet.

Now I come to the Firewall Client.

I have been trying to install the Firewall Client on our Client Machines (all XP Pro) with absolutely no success.

I checked the online instructions and it says to do the following:

Path\Setup /v "SERVER_NAME_OR_IP=ISA_Server_Name ENABLE_AUTO_DETECT=0|1 REFRESH_WEB_PROXY=1|0 /qn"

So, at a Client machine as a test I enter the following in the command prompt:

C:\Setup /v "SERVER_NAME_OR_IP=172.16.255.2 ENABLE_AUTO_DETECT=0 REFRESH_WEB_PROXY=1 /qn"

After pressing Enter there is disk access and then nothing but silence.

After checking Add/Remove in the Control Panel and the Program folders I can confirm that nothing was installed.

I know this must be something.

I haven't checked the syntax but:

C:\Setup /v

I Assume you copy the installation files for the client towards the harddisk on partition c: ?

\\server_name\mspclnt\setup /v

have you tried that ?

Hello

Thanks for the reply.

Its strange really, I got the instructions that did not work from the help within ISA 2004.

I then looked up the information on the MS Knowledge Base and it had a different command line which worked fine.

Good to see that the help guide within ISA is so reliable.

This issue is now fixed.
