This ends up as: whenever I make a change to my ISA 2006 Standard configuration, RRAS is disabled.

We just moved work location, and I've set up my internal network as 192.168.X.X /24 Currently I'm using a Layer 3 switch to route between VLANs, and each VLAN has an address of 192.168.XX.254  My servers are on 192.168.0.X

My new installation of ISA 2006 Standard is on Server 2003 Enterprise R2, internal address is 192.168.0.250, 24-bit mask, no gateway, and internal DNS.

The external interface is corporate-supplied 10.2.33.8, 24-bit mask, default gateway is 10.2.33.1, and a corporate-supplied external DNS.

I configured RRAS with a static route for the internal interface, with 192.168.0.0 and a 16-bit mask pointing to 192.168.0.254.

That configuration works OK, except every time I create or change an access rule, web-publishing rule, etc, when I hit Apply, RRAS on the host machine is disabled and the static route is gone. That's simply annoying locally, but when I'm logged in from one of the subnets my session has ended until I reset the service.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? This worked at my old location.

You need to add the static route(s) at the operating system level using "route add" statements as opposed to using RRAS.

RRAS will not be needed unless you enable the VPN feature of ISA.

Cheers

JJ

Jason

Your solution worked, of course. During the move, I had forgotten that in my previous location I had set up a site-to-site VPN with another campus, and that link is mostly unused now.

Thanks again
Steve
