Trusted domains with ISA 2004 and proxy client - 1.Aug.2008 2:05:34 PM

My company recently merged with another and until we can merge our domains we have currently established a two way trust between the domains.  I'm wondering if we can use our ISA 2004 Enterprise proxy server with the proxy client to block certain web pages for computers and users that are in the trusted domain without them having to manually authenticate.

Thanks,
Brett

As long as you have a trust in place this should work just fine...if you have separate forests, you may need to ensure ISA can communicate with domain controllers from the new forest.

Our company just merged with another and we have set up trust between the domains. Our ISA server (ISA 2004 standard)  is set up to use basic authentication without prompting users to authenticate, it's our bypass proxy that allows anynomous connections.  I am able to ping the AD servers in the trusted domain from the ISA server using the FQDN, so communication seems ok.

The problem is users from the new trusted domain cannot browse the Internet using our ISA server.

Any suggestions?

From memory, basic authentication is limited to the domain that ISA belongs too, even if there is a trust in place.

Thanks for the quick response,

We only use Basic authentication on this server for the purpose of allowing anynomous access. Would another authentication type provide anynonmous access that will allow authentication to both domains?

Ballard

If you use Integrated authentication then this should work if you have a trust in place.

Cheers
