We have two locations, each with two Internet Connections (One 5x5 Meg, one standard cable modem)... We are setting up an ISA 2006 server at each site... we would like to do an ISA-to-ISA vpn connection on the 5x5 connections (which we can set up without a problem), but we would also like to route each location's Internet browsing traffic out through the Cable modem connections, thus freeing up the 5x5 bandwidth for inter-office traffic... as soon as we introduce the cable modem connection's gateway, we can no longer make the vpn connection...

I see other people trying to use multiple Internet connections as a 'fail-safe,' but have not seen anyone trying to do this setup yet... we're basically trying to route between three networks (internal, vpn connection, and Internet access)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or assistance...

Brandon

Hi Brandon,

your problem is that ISA server, actually I should say Windows, only supports *one* default gateway. However, in your particular scenario you can workaround that limitation because you only want to route differently to a well known static destination.

Check out my blog An IPSec tunnel mode connection is not implemented as a routable interface on a Windows based server for some ideas.

HTH,
Stefaan
