Hi Everyone!

I've been using ISA 2004 for the last couple of months as a Web Proxy server but I still have not found how to block sites by keywords. At the moment I have set Destination Sets to Block and Allow which works fine. But there are many websites that I don't have them in my list which contain keywords in the URL such as "sex" "teen" and are allowed. My Question: Is it possible to block websites by scanning the URL for a keyword.

Thanks

Hi Stage,

The ISA firewall doesn't have destination sets. Are you referring to URL Sets or Domain Name Sets?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom!

Yes,I do have URL sets to block access to certain URLs and Domain sets to block access to specified domains. Works fine. But I find that users are still able to open porn sites which are not in listed in my URL and Domain sets. If I can get ISA to scan the URL for specific keywords it would be great. Any ideas?

Hey Stage,

Try using the rating feature for Internet Explorer. You can set that in your Group Policy

I know that with the Websense filtering product you can add keywords and use regular expressions like for PERL scripts to prevent overblocking.

Use the http policy and add the keywords in the signatures section under the "request url" option. This works for me anyway!
