We are having some difficulties accessing a web site that runs on a non-standard port.

The main part of the web site runs on the normal web port 80, but the ordering system runs on port 81.

http://www.somedomain.co.uk

Clicking onto the "Order Online" link on the main web site takes us to the following web site address:

http://123.123.456.789:81/orderform.aspx

Although we can access the standard web page, the ordering page (running on port 81) gives us an "Error Code 10060: Connection timeout." error.

We are running a mixture of IE6 and IE7 web browsers that get their Internet connection via the ISA Server 2004 running as a web proxy.

The web proxy is running on the default port 8080.

We do have a direct connection to the Internet for testing purposes that does not go through the proxy and using that we can access the site without any problems.

We did contact the company who set up the web site but they weren't able to offer any ideas at this time.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can offer any tips on the procedure to configure the web proxy so it will pass traffic on this non-standard port.

Hi,

I got an error accessing the 'order online' link. I have a direct connection to the
internet.

quote:

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Too many connections
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Too many connections

looks like a coding problem!

Thanks for your quick reply Roy.

I have never seen that ODBC error before. It looks like a coding problem that might be 'in addition' to the connectivity problem we are already having.

When I access the port 81 site using our direct connection, I get a logon screen which looks like it is a dotnet web application - that is what I would expect to see.

Going back to the issue at hand...

Should ISA proxy server be able to process HTTP requests on port 81 by default? Or is it something that would usually need to be configured?

If it is something that needs to be configured, can you let me know where it needs to be done or a link to a document that discusses it.

I did spend quite a while searching for the answer using Google, but I kept ending up with documents discussing SSL Tunneling and Managing Tunnel Port Ranges and I don't believe that is that same thing that I am trying to achieve.

Thanks in advance for any advice given.
