Somewhat of a strange problem. We are running ISA 2006 EE with 4 array members. A helpdesk ticket has been logged where a user has reported this issue.

The user receives a newsletter through e-mail which contains a link to a PDF document. The embedded URL looks like http://www.site.com/download.php?file=PDF/document.pdf If the user clicks on this link then IE responds with "Internet Explorer cannot download download.php...". You can also get the same behavior by pasting this URL in the address bar or from a Start -> Run -> (Paste URL).

The strange thing is that you can browse to www.site.com and within that site there is the same URL in a hyperlink. Click on this link and it will download the PDF.

If you execute this outside of the proxy server then it works fine. I'm convinced it has something to do with ISA but I can't put a finger on it.

Any ideas?
