Hi Netagent,
Make sure that 8.3 file names are allowed on the machine. Otherwise, I've never had a problem installing the Firewall client on an XP machine.

Are you installing with admin priviliges? Is it being installed from the ISA server sharepoint. I got that error once from installing a copy of the client I put on cd.

Ok, here is the scenerio:
I've installed ISA on a w2k server (standalone server). The share point is :\\servername\mplclnt\.
Then i run: "\\servername\mplclnt\setup" on my XP pro client PC.
Then installation menu pop up...to continue the installing, in the mean while, the error message pop up, then the installation process resume back with error.
I've try to install FW client on ISA server itself to test the installation. It's completed successfully. Also on another XP machine.
So the problem only happened to my XP machine. Does anyone know what cause the error?

i installed isa and sp1 on a win2k adv. server with sp2. when i try to run the firewall client setup on a winXP pro machine, the mspclnt share msi returns this error:
msi internal error 2755.xxx please run msi at a later time (or smth. similar)
i set the share and file permissions from 'read' to 'change' just to make sure it's not permission-related.
don't know if it's related... grateful for any clues!

Hi guys! A suggestion: map the share to a network drive letter (i.e. P:\ )and then run the setup.exe from that new drive. If you want to do it massive, put it for a day in your client's logon script, then add the sentence 'P:\setupp.exe /S' to install it silently. If it's just for ine client (or a few, not more than 5 or 6) edit their registry remotelly and and add 'net use P: \\servername\sharename' and 'P:\setup.exe /S' to the 'HKLM Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current version\run once' branch in the registry. Next time (and only once) users start session the program will install silently; but put sentences in the right order: first the ' net use....' and then the 'p:\setup...' in order to work. Another point to remember: installing user needs to have read and exec access to the share It has to work fine. Cheers, Alvin
