Hi,

I've read that when I have Route relations between 2 networks I can use both Access Rules and Server Publishing Rules to allow access to a resource in one network.
But I'm not able to.

Example: CorpA network is 10.x.x.x., CorpB net is 192.168.x.x (*)
I want a computer in CorpB to print using a printer in CorpA.
If I use Route relationship and create a Server Publishing Rule listening to 192.168.0.10 (the IP of the isa's NIC in CorpB) then try to connect to printer from CorpB I see "denied connection from default rule".

If I simply switch the network rel. from Route to NAT all works fine. So I'm quite sure there is no error in publishing rule (such as wrong protocol definition).

Please help "[Wink]"

(*) we are implementing an isa server like firewall/router between some corporate networks.

Hi Tinto,

If you have a Route Network Rule between source and destination Network, then use an Access Rule instead of a publishing rule.

HTH,
Tom

Hi Tom, yes that's what I plan to do, I was just wondering about the reason that I cannot use S.P. Rule with Route rel.

Waiting for you answer... I've learned that I can establish a NAT rule between a part of CorpA and CorpB, leaving in place the general route rule. Cool!

P.S.: if you were interested in a case-study about a non orthodox implementation of ISA like a router... mail me [Wink]
