All,
I have followed the tutorians and articles published on this site but I cant get this to work for me.
My network is as follows:
I have a an external registered domain as xyz.com and in internal domain as corp.xyz.com. My internal network is behind a hardware fire wall. On my internal network i have an isa server, and an exchange server. I created a certificate and installed it on the exchange and set the properties for the virtual web site. Also enabled FBA and from within the internal network it works fine. I then put an entry for the published mail server as mail.xyz.com in the hosts file on the isa server to point to my internal mail server. i also exported the certificates and registered them on the isa. I checked the OWA from the isa server and it works. now i published the mail server using the isa wizard and set up the listner to listen on the external network for mail.fdsinfotech.com. i also modified the dns to reflect the published external ip of the isa server and tried to test this from a dial up connection to a different isp.
From within the internal network everything works fine. However the https packets from the external client get rejected by the ISA server using the default rule. What give?
Please help... Thanks Prady

Hi Prady,
What are the EXACT details of your ISA firewall configuration (internal and external interface) and the Web Publishing Rule. HTH, Tom

Hi Tom,
I have been playing with my isa server and now it refuses to accept any mail publishing rule. when i configure a rule and save it it says "the configuration changes were saved but atleast one service failed to load the changes". I cant seen any error in the log file too.
Ok my network infrastructure is as follows: I have a cisco fire wall which is connected to the internet. the other end of the firewall is connected to my internal network. on the internal network i have this uni homed isa server. the cisco firewall is configured to communicate only with the isa server. all my internal users access the internet through the isa server. the isa server is a 2004 on a win 2003 server. my internal domain is corp.xyz.com and my internet domain is xyz.com. i have published mail.xyz.com on my internet dns and this points to the ip on the cisco which nats to isa server. i get the requests on the https upto the isa server but isa server rejects these requests.
Regards, Prady

Hi Tom,
I reset the configuration of my ISA server and the error while saving the configuration is gone. There is one more funny thing i noticed. I cannot publish a server! As a test i created a win 2003 server enabled the pop3 service on it and published it. I do get requests from the internet to the isa server however isa server denies these requests too. this happens for any other popular port too like smtp, ftp etc. What give?
Regards, Prady
