I have a Fortigate 100 firewall adead of ISA 2006. An AD server behind the ISA with the Fortigate Server Authentication Extenstion Service running. This service listens on port 8000. I have created and inbound port 8000 protocol and server publishing rule to allow external to the AD server. Yet I always get 'Unidentified IP Traffic' protocol and 'Denied Connection' action in the ISA monitor. What is going on? I have not had a problem with this type of connection before.

I have fixed this problem. I made a simple mistake of trying to talk to the inside server with the inside ip address instead of using the ip:port of the isa server. The isa was simply ingoring the request as "not my ip". Thanks to all of those who tried to help!
