ISA 2006

I have a rule that publishes my SMTP server on port 25.  The rule works when requests appear to come from the ISA server computer.  However, connection attempts fail when requests appear to come from the original client.  I find this extremely odd, since the SMTP server has no problem accepting connections if I switch out the ISA server for a LinkSys router with a very simple port forwarding rule.  This is causing a problem because the message headers indicate the IP address of the ISA server rather than the sending mail server.  Any ideas?

This is very weird. I disabled the SMTP filter in the publishing rule, and now it works when requests are coming from the original IP.   However, the first time I tried this it didn't work... weird!
